Good supervisors can take you to incredible hights. They help you learn to fly, providing the wind beneath you and providing a net for when you fall.
Linda Grobman
Counselling psychologists are constantly invited to reflect on their practice as inevitable series of contesting possibilities, rather than a series of rights and wrongs.
Gillon, 2007
Everyone has their own individual flaws and blocks, and career counsellors should receive appropriate individual or group supervision to ensure that these do not adversely affect their work.

Can all SBC members deliver CPD?No, not all SBC members can deliver CPD. Only community members who are in our ''Advancing'' membership plan can submit proposals and run CPD events with us. To take advantage of our ''Advancing'' membership plan, please visit: https://www.sbc-int.com/sbc-membership-plans
-
Can any company/organisation/charity run CPD for the SBC?No. We only accept CPD proposals from established Strategic Partners of the SBC. To express interest in Partnering with the SBC, please email us at: info@sbc-int.com
-
What should a speaker proposal include? As you go through the form, you'll be guided to provide the information we require at stage ''Proposal''. However, briefly put, we'd like to know about: The idea, simply stated with a working title. The problem that your Event will address and solve/provide solution to. The action you want people to take as a result (if workshop). 1-3 key concepts you'll cover to support the problem, idea, and/or action. Why you've got the credibility to talk about all of this.
-
Do I need to submit my presentation in advance? No, not at Proposal stage. Once your Proposal is accepted we will ask for your presentation slides or if not using slides then a structured plan of your speaking notes, along with any further recommendations you'd have for the attendees.
-
Can I include video in my presentation?Yes - if it's embedded in your presentation.
-
Do you expect anything else from me besides showing up to speak?Yes, we expect speakers to promote their Event and we support them in doing so.
-
What if I need technical assistance on the day of the Event?A member of staff will be on hand to assist throughout your Event.
-
I have other questions/concerns about speakingIf you have any other questions/concerns about being a Speaker and running an event with the SBC that is not answered by the Speakers' Brief or the Terms and Conditions for Speakers, please email us at: info@sbc-int.com
-
What would the SBC charge attendees for my Event?Speakers choose their pricing. However, we strongly discourage free Events, especially considering that they are for the purposes of CPD (Continuous Professional Development).
-
How much do you pay speakers? As we do not run Speaker Events as conferences do, our model is different. While conferences make their money from selling tickets and pay flat fees to their Speakers, our approach is to support Speakers to make their own money from ticket sales. Hence, Speakers approach us, propose workshops and webinars and if their proposals are accepted as suitable for our audience, the SBC supports and promotes their event to the community - thus not limiting Speakers' earning potential from an Event.
-
What are the SBC fees for Hosting & Promoting my Event? To cover our expenses for organising, hosting and promoting your Event, we have an Event Set-up Fee and a 15% commission on ticket sales.
